Test Cubes

Test Cubes

prusaprinters

These are three different 30mm test print "cubes" that test many different things with both the filament and the printer.

I was designing and building a new printer, but needed something to test the print quality. There are a lot of test cubes available, but nothing that tested many different things at the same time such as cooling, dimensional accuracy, bridging, and toolhead/print bed oscillation.

Dialing in a new printer is a lot like playing Whack-A-Mole. Every time I fixed one issue, two more popped up. So this print helped me a lot.

Once I was able to print this cube out properly I was able to move onto more elaborate test prints that are available.

The first image is a render using the Arnold Renderer, the next four are renders in Fusion 360, and the last picture is of actual prints.

Print instructions

I have included three models. The traditional 30x30mm cube, a 30x70mm cube that helps more accurately identify Z axis issues, and a 30x6mm print that just tests bridging and the top layer.

There is very little else to explain. Print settings are anything, a good print to use to help dial in your profiles.

Again like most of my other prints published here, this was originally designed for my own use but felt that others may find value in it.

Good luck!
