Test Article 2
thingiverse
I designed this article as a rigorous test for PET+ filament from Makerbot. The print needed to include a variety of features that would put its settings through their paces, yet still allow it to complete at a decent pace because prolonged waiting times can become wearisome. This intricate piece boasts four distinct columns with varied heights, an extremely lengthy bridge spanning between them, and no less than four holes scattered throughout. By crafting this structure, I aimed to push the limits of infill success, test stringing occurrences (between the poles), and gauge the efficacy of bridging. The provided photographs demonstrate the striking differences between PET+ prints (rendered using MadeSolid filament) in vibrant blue and the standard Makerbot Black ABS material rendered in stark black. These distinct hues serve as a visual aid for those interested in scrutinizing every detail of these prints, comparing how each material holds up to similar tests. To build this design efficiently, use TurboCAD 20 for the original model then export it as an STL file for ease of import into any suitable slicing software.
