Tesseract (4D Cube)
thingiverse
This is what's known as a tesseract. A tesseract is a 3 dimensional representation of a 4 dimensional cube. A cube, a 3 dimensional object, appears as a square in 2 dimensional space. Similarly, a 4 dimensional cube would appear as a tesseract in 3 dimensional space. This is a great teaching tool, as well as a cool ornament/ knick-knack. This model prints well in PLA at it's original size (54mm), and has been tested down to 67% of it's size (36mm). It will require supports. I use the default automatic support settings in Flashprint 5. The print comes out perfect and the supports are easy to remove. I did try to print this with a Photon Mono resin printer, and it was hard to get right. I broke a few of these trying to get the supports off. Although, it does look great in resin if you can pull it off. I haven't tried, but I think scaling this model up a bit will make printing this in resin easier.
