The Velcro strap on this system wears off within a few hours of being submerged in water, resulting in the attachment coming loose. This arm rest replaces the standard one that you secure with a stick-on Velcro strap, which is attached to your arm. It's designed to be loose enough for the metal detector to remain suspended from your arm while you're working the scoop. The arm rest itself is crafted from ABS and has undergone an acetone vapor bath overnight to enhance its durability and smoothness.
