Nikola Tesla emerged into this world on July 10, 1856, in Smiljan, Lika, a Croatia-based village situated within the expansive Austo-Hungarian Empire's territory at that time. As it turned out, Nikola's father, Milutin Tesla, was not only an astute individual but also served as a Serbian Orthodox Priest with deep-seated roots. His mother, Djuka Mandic, boasted impressive credentials as a prolific inventor specializing in crafting ingenious household appliances. Afterward, Nikola devoted his intellectual pursuits at the Realschule in Karlstadt in 1873, following it up with advanced education at the esteemed Polytechnic Institute in Graz, Austria, and ultimately landing at the prestigious University of Prague to further enhance his intellect.
