This is another model I thought would take a few weeks, but ended up taking twelve long months to complete. Originally, it was designed as a desk ornament that slowly turns, but after considerable deliberation and multiple redesigns, it evolved into a highly detailed 1/12 scale Tesla Roadster replica RC car that's surprisingly easy to build. With Elon Musk in mind, I subtly modified the body to make it more curvy. The end result is an exceptional model. Here are her most notable features: Operational doors swing open with ease, just like on a real car. The trunk lid opens, as do the lights and steering wheel, providing a genuine driving experience. The build process is straightforward thanks to easy clip-together construction. FDM printing allows for smooth prints without supports needed. Only minor edge cleaning is required before assembling all the parts. A charming Starman mini figurine with movable arms and head sits in the driver's seat, inviting creative arrangements. To print realistic tires, a dedicated mould can be used with the recommended silicone, cornstarch, and water mixture. A high-quality two-speed gear system gives users more control over speed, with both fast and slow options available for smooth rides. This car is made from individual parts that can also be downloaded as grouped models in obj, stl, fbx formats along with an original 3Ds Max file. I've also included the Gcodes used, allowing you to achieve the desired print quality using your own slicing software. However, it's recommended to set finer layer heights than the 'fastest possible' option, which was used during testing.
