Tesla Model S Wireless Charging Bracket

This simple bracket allows you to use a wireless charger for your iPhone in the standard Tesla Model S center console. The console comes equipped with a plug for your phone, but this setup has its limitations. First and foremost, there's no rear support, so strong acceleration will dislodge your phone from the plug. Secondly, finding the exact spot to place your phone to connect it to the Lightning plug can be a daunting task, and it's definitely distracting while driving. I devised a simple solution - a 2-part bracket that holds a single-coil wireless charger (7.5W for an iPhone) as well as providing a slot to drop your phone into to secure it in place on top of the charger. The two parts are held together with a screw, allowing for easy modifications if you switch to a different phone model. Additionally, the bracket keeps the MicroUSB plug in place, so you need to insert it before joining the two parts. This part is designed specifically for an iPhone X with a thin case. If you have a different phone, you can modify the included Sketchup file accordingly. However, if your phone is significantly larger, it won't center properly on the Qi charger coil, and the charger bracket will need to be modified as well to keep the phone centered vertically on the charger - that's a challenge left for you to tackle. Lastly, even with the charger attached, you can still fold the lid back into the closed position; just make sure there's enough slack in the USB cord to do this.
