Tesla Model 3 Slide-out SSD Mount
thingiverse
This SSD holder was crafted to clip onto the underside of a hinged phone dock door, positioned near USB ports for easy access. The components are secured using double-sided tape, ensuring a sturdy hold. Once installed, the SSD can be swiftly removed by sliding it out when reviewing video from a Sentry Mode event is necessary. With any luck, Elon will grant us permission to review footage directly on the car's screen in the future, but until then, quickly removable storage makes perfect sense. To make this design work seamlessly, I opted for a USB/SATA adapter with a relatively short SATA end. The specific model I used can be found on Amazon at the link [https://amzn.to/2ttS9TQ](https://amzn.to/2ttS9TQ). I 3D printed mine using TPU, but I might remake it in PETG for a more rigid feel. I chose TPU initially because of its softness, which I believed would minimize rattling and noise issues; however, the fit ended up being quite snug, making rattling unlikely anyway.
