The ecohitch for Tesla Model 3 uses a plate that covers the required hole. The plate relies on magnets attached to the hitch upright to stay securely in place. It's compatible with a 3-inch holesaw, not the 4-inch option. Two pre-drilled holes are marked on the plate where it worked effectively for me. A one-piece file is included to combine the two pieces at that location. You can drill out the holes or substitute them with your own to better center the plate for your car. Simply visit a local hardware store to find suitable hardware. This DIY solution is significantly cheaper than purchasing an ecohitch for $100.
