Tesla Coil Gun (Lightning Gun)
grabcad
The Tesla coil gun, created for a University of Idaho physics course, remained unsuccessful due to a faulty PWM board and time constraints that prevented ordering a replacement. It is hoped that the project may be revisited in future years. For those planning to build their own, suggestions include using a shorter secondary coil (12" instead of 24") and a primary coil with the same capacitance as the new secondary one. Credits go to Matthew Hewitt for his drill model and Aled J Taylor for his toggle switch.
