Tertial Extended Base

Tertial Extended Base

thingiverse

This is an improved base for the IKEA Tertial lamp. Using the clamp with the "top" mounting hole of the Tertial causes collision with the clamp pin, which prevents the mount's base from fully inserting. To fix this, the top is extended a few mm to allow full seating of the lamp base. This modification should prevent the lamp from slipping out of the base. The new design features a slightly tighter hole based on the diameter of my lamp's base, aiming to eliminate any slop. I have not yet printed this version but ran it through Simplify3D and found it suitable. While you might not need supports for the horizontal holes, they can't hurt. I recommend 25% infill minimum and a decent filament like PETG or Nylon that can handle stress. A minimum of 3-4 perimeters is also advisable.
