Terramundi Money Pot

Terramundi money pots have been an integral part of Italian tradition for over 2000 years, with their design remaining remarkably unchanged throughout history. The British Museum proudly showcases examples of these ancient vessels. When the first coin is inserted, the Terramundi pot must be consistently filled until it reaches its maximum capacity. Upon reaching this milestone, the pot must be ceremoniously smashed while making a heartfelt wish. It's customary to replace the broken vessel with a new one and use the accumulated funds for 'good things', which are believed to bring good fortune. This project was inspired by the visually appealing ceramic Terramundi pot. To create a 3D printable version, I designed a model using Solidworks software. The model was printed in PLA using a Makerbot Replicator 2. Due to its size, it's not recommended to print this design in ABS, as it may warp. The interior of the money pot is deliberately curved at a shallow angle, ensuring that it can be printed without any supports.
