The small statue wears a lower garment known as a Chiton underneath and a cloak on top. It holds a flower in its right hand against its chest, while pulling up its dress with its left hand. This posture is characteristic of figurative depictions of young women in ancient Greek Archaic style (c. 700 - 500 BC). Such terracottas were usually votive offerings in temples or grave gifts.
