Terrain - Industrial Tank - Remix as sci-fi water bottle top
thingiverse
I wanted to have a glass bottle instead of the more common now plastic ones but of course with some nice touch - I needed a nice cap for my water bottle. So I was searching for nice top and bottom pieces. I found this project here. I have re-sized the top part to ~70mm OD and made a bigger hollow part in the middle using Slic3r modifiers. The middle hollow part is ~60mm ID and ~20mm deep. It is using the original metal bottle cap below the plastic topper. I have printed this on glass bed, 70degC on the bed, 230degC on the extruder. Very light and strong print. I have uploaded also the 3mf file with modifier. There is also a green element in this project - you re-use a glass bottle which you normally scrap. It can double also as a space hat for my daughter's toy :D Edit: I have added also a bottom cap or base if you like. It is the same model but resized to ~100mm OD with a modifier this time on the top with ID ~80mm. The idea is to snap fit the bottom of the bottle inside it. It worked out pretty nice. I always give about 0.3mm gap between parts because my printer is over-extruding a bit. I am aware of it, I want it, so I just compensate for that if I have to fit parts to each other. Picture of the complete bottle uploaded.
