Hello everyone, here's my proposal for Terrafugia's contest. The concept of Terrafugia Aircar is intriguing – it aims to leverage the best from both automotive and aeronautical worlds. Focusing on the key points customers would desire in an Aircar, we consider factors like price, value, and the real challenges of combining road and air capabilities. To address safety concerns, the Terrafugia Aircar incorporates deformable zones for road traffic, providing protection similar to five-star EuroNCAP standards. The split body design allows for easy replacement of parts in case of damage and maintains car-like visibility and ergonomics without affecting aerodynamics. The shape is inspired by a teardrop, optimizing median section aerodynamics while allowing for a car-like front. The rear fan concept draws inspiration from jet sides air intakes to collect and push air into the fan, reducing drag on highways and providing additional thrust when needed. Control surfaces help counter side winds, ensuring safety during highway driving. Styling is interconnected with function, blending car and plane elements while offering a contemporary, fresh feel. The concept challenges conventional car design by featuring wheels that 'hover over the turbine,' an air-sucking feature. The front fenders evoke a sharky, pointed shape to offer lift, while the engine hood allows for styling elements not typically found in aerodynamic designs. The Terrafugia Aircar's plane-like nose and angled headlights with cut curvatures create a sophisticated 'navigation instrument' appearance. The rear design showcases the fan housing as an 'antigravity generator,' while the rounded muscle pad contributes to stability. Rear stop lights resemble mine quartz crystals, offering an eco tone. In airplane mode, the Terrafugia Aircar boasts correct aerodynamics and a streamlined appearance that feels at home in cities and on highways.
