From Yotkan, capital of the kingdom of Khotan, situated in modern Xianjiang province during 2nd-3rd century A.D. The oasis state of Khotan, with its thriving capital at Yotkan, south of the expansive Taklamakan desert, enjoyed a prosperous and powerful status as a kingdom. Excavations have uncovered numerous terracotta figures and ceramics showcasing Hellenistic style influences adopted from Iran. Notably, there are virtually no similarities between these artefacts and those found in Central China.
