After the "arrival terminator" I decided to create another classic poster, the factory where Cameron is being built - another "ship in the bottle". Now, if you want to print this without the glass dome and electronics, feel free. The glass dome is from Ikea, so it's easy to get locally or online. Please don't scale down any further; the model itself is 1/6 scale and matches most of my models. I share my work for others to enjoy. Please do not share these files on social media or other websites - links to this page are acceptable. I've included three faces and three heads, allowing you a choice of cyborg skull, hair over one shoulder, and hair covering body parts. The three faces will fit all three heads, so print out your preferred combination. There are 24 pieces in total for this build, so be prepared for some fiddling to assemble them. You may need to read the PDF to get the best results from printing orientation. A very high-resolution file is included with lots of detail and full instructions. As yet, I haven't built or programmed the Arduino; it's unclear whether sound will be included. Watch this space - I'll post more pics when the finished product is complete and painted. Unfortunately, I cannot offer support for the Arduino file or parts used; these will be updated in the PDF when complete. All parts have been printed and developed to print easily, as you can tell from the file name - the torso has reached version 8! The base took two attempts to get the segment correct. Every part has been tested and prints smoothly if you follow the settings in the PDF file. It was necessary for me to separate the face and head to fit the LED into the eye. Additionally, the torso features a tube running through its body, and the robotic support arm is also tubed to accommodate wires. Splitting each of the robotic arms allows flat-bed printing, resulting in a smooth surface to glue the halves together once the wire is passed through. This time around, I've used a 2-pin JST connector in the torso and necks of the heads - this way, you can swap heads while still having the LED in the eye. Check out the photos for more information. Some users have been asking why their prints aren't working or why they're filled with holes when printed. Please don't scale down or adjust my recommended settings for infill, etc., as you can see from the pictures that this prints well and should result in a pleasing product when completed. All of my models are only released once they've been thoroughly tested to print properly - please do not remix or "fix" any faults in this model then republish! If there's an issue, let me know; I'll answer and fix the problem. Apart from that, print away and enjoy. I make these models for my own collection, but I'm always open to suggestions of content for models covering the DC and Marvel universe as well as TV and film cult images, e.g., Barbarella. If you have any ideas, message me - I'd be happy to hear them. As always, I hope you enjoy the parts on offer.
