Prepare a template for coasters using MDF shapes cut from a sheet. Take a Mayku Cast Sheet from the pack and peel off its protective film, which can be recycled at home. Place the sheet in the FormBox and start heating the plastic. Position the coaster template in the centre of the vacuum plate. As the plastic heats up, observe ripples forming at the edges of the sheet and a droop in the middle. When this happens, form the template with the Mayku Cast Sheet. Allow the plastic to cool down completely before gently popping out the template. Cut around the shape, leaving an edge intact on the mold. Next, pour a pool of coloured plaster onto a sheet of Mayku Cast. Let it set. Repeat the process for as many colours as desired. Once the plaster is dry, break it into small pieces and place them in a container. Add more white liquid plaster to the dry pieces and mix well. Pour the mixture into the mold, filling it up to just below the rim. Shake the mold gently to remove any air bubbles that may have formed. As you do this, observe how they rise to the surface. Let the mixture set completely before proceeding further. Pop out the coaster from the mold by applying gentle pressure to its corners. Finally, sand the edges to reveal the coloured chips inside the coaster, and enjoy your new creations!
