Tentacled 40mm Fan Guard

The flow settings and z offset had been painstakingly calibrated, according to the translation he had made with great difficulty from the runes on the base of the ancient statue. Though he should have been filled with hope of a clean print, he could not shake the feeling that he had unleashed something terrible upon the world. His hands had trembled as he levelled the bed, but he had told himself it was simply lack of sleep.Once a blessed refuge for an over active mind, sleep was now a font of creeping fear and unease. He would dream of something deep and dark stirring in the mist. When he woke, shaking, he would at first imagine himself once again back on the expedition. Then with a start he would realise that the sweat that drenched him was not from the fetid and stale air of the jungle, but from the turmoil of his own mind, and the roaring in his ears was not the slow and degenerate beat of the ancient drums scattered around the ruined temple, but from the panicked hammering of his own heart. Now, drawn inexorably by the unearthly noise coming from the cooling fan, he turned slowly towards the printer. His mind, stretched beyond all human limits by the arcane kinematic flow formulae of the ancient ones, broke entirely when his eyes beheld the horror that awaited him. Sanity fled, and merciful madness took him.Print SettingsPrinter:Voxelab AquilaRafts: NoSupports:YesInfill: Low on Tentacles (10%-20%), with support cubic or equivalent. 30% on base pieces that screw to fan.Notes:Print tentacles and eye in one color, and base pieces in another. Base pieces should clip onto tentacles reasonably securely, and screws will hold in place. You can glue if you wish but I haven't found this to be required, and if you break a piece later it means only a partial reprint. The "eye" piece goes in flat side towards fan for maximum airflow. I put a small piece of bluetak under it to keep in place. Again you can use superglue if you wish. You can skip the eye piece altogether if you want: it just enhances the "stareiness" of the thing, but it works best if you have a led fan.If the guard contacts the fan then use washers on the screws. How I Designed ThisRemixed tentacles in tinkercad. Exported and imported into fusion to slice and dice and design guard. Exported again into meshmixer to tidy up :) Fusion really doesn't like high quality STLs Tentacles thanks to ClayRade https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4420883Category: 3D Printer Accessories
