tentacle armature mark 1
thingiverse
This Tinkercad-made object is an improved version of a handcrafted Halloween prop from years past. The image may be off, but it's sufficient for your needs. To use this design, print each part separately and assemble them according to the picture. Thread heavy gauge string, fishing wire, or twine through the holes and tie it at the tip (using high tensile synthetic round bailing twine). The tip requires gluing together; printing it as a single piece would make string attachment difficult. This design is scalable by increasing the size of the last two pieces or lengthening any part's shell, although extending hinges may cause binding issues during manipulation. The prop offers four directions of motion instead of the usual two. Pins are available in two sizes and can be scaled for longer tentacles; however, larger items may require metal lag bolts to withstand tension and weight.
