My Dungeon Master is running a legendary module for Dungeons and Dragons. One temple, with an aquatic theme, featured an animated altar that roamed freely, snatching PCs with its grasping tentacles and pinning them beneath its massive bulk. That turned out to be the final fate for my stalwart dwarven cleric, Gunther. :( RIP. Here's a model you can use in your campaigns, inspired by the one that sealed poor Gunther's fate.
