Tent guyline/paracord tensioner

Simple tensioner for a tent guyline or paracord.

I have tested the uploaded 3MF/STL files with 550 paracord (~4 mm diameter) as well as narrow tent guyline (~2 mm diameter) and it holds well.

Should you need a different size, the source FreeCAD model file is parametric, which allow changing hole sizes. Note! This was made using FreeCAD LinkStage branch (Nightly) and will not work with FreeCAD 0.19.

Slicing & printing

Sliced using SuperSlicer (PrusaSlicer fork with improvements) using PETG with 100% infill. Took about 10 minutes to print per tensioner on my Prusa i3 MK3s.

PLA should also work just fine as long as the low temperature resistance is not an issue for your application.

Post processing

To avoid damaging the guyline or cord it is important to remove any sharp edges that may be left after printing. I sanded the outside of my prints smooth using wet sandpaper (180, 400 and 800 grit in succession) in the areas where the guyline might touch it. This was relatively quick for such a small part (only took maybe 2 or 3 minutes per tensioner). Then I ran a utility knife over all the internal corners of the chamfered edges to round them over as well (as I couldn't reach those areas with sandpaper).
