Hook and shackle set for tent guy ropes. I was setting up the tent on a recent camping trip when it started raining, and I was tying off the guy ropes in the rain at that moment. This hook and shackle arrangement came to my mind as a way to make tying off faster. I permanently leave the shackles tied off to the tent, and simply clip the hook to the shackle. I haven't had a chance yet to test the hooks and shackle outdoors, but I'm confident they'll work well. UPDATE: They actually work very well. I'm also testing my own guy rope cinch design. The components are printed in PETG, which has excellent strength properties.
