Tension screw trap for MMU2S
prusaprinters
Sometimes, when I open my MMU2S, the two tensioner screws and springs fall out. The screws are easy to find again because they don't go far. But the springs, oh, the springs! They want to roll away as far as possible toward least accessible place behind my desk! One is now completely lost.* I'm using my last spare spring, so I needed a solution.I wanted something more robust than retention washers and simpler than disassembling and reassembling an entire reprinted MMU cover or entire reprinted idler body.Blindside_o0's excellent V2 design met my requirements, as it's quick to print and takes just a couple of minutes to install (see below). However, due to the way my printer is situated, I needed to see the position of my screw heads from the front, and the original design wouldn't let me.This remix is reverse-engineered from scratch in OpenSCAD. This design includes a slightly reshaped trap, wider side viewing openings, as well as new viewing openings in front.* Update: Over a year later, I finally found that lost spring magnetically stuck to the underside of the heat bed. It was there the whole time.Print SettingsPrinter: Prusa i3 MK3S+MMU2SSupports: NoResolution: 0.4mm nozzle, 0.20-0.30mm layersFilament: Prusament PETGNotes:With a clean build plate, no brim is needed.
