Here's how I designed a custom belt tensioner for my Tronxy X5S 3D printer using only the basic components that come with it. To create this tensioner, I leveraged the standard wheel and its accompanying bearings. Each wheel comes equipped with two bearings, one washer, and a plastic component. I opted to use the same length as the standard belt, eliminating the need for an additional purchase. In addition to these standard components, I incorporated a damper into my design for the NEMA17 motor to ensure smooth operation. For tensioning the belt, I employed two custom-made screws that press against a self-designed enclosure made of ABS plastic. This allows me to adjust the entire assembly with ease.
