Tensegrity ...uh ...Thing...
prusaprinters
For no good reason, I was kept awake last night because I couldn't stop thinking about what might be the simplest tensegrity structure, with the fewest number of tensioned lines. This probably isn't it, but I lay there figuring how it would be printed, and so sketched it this morning and did a quick design in Fusion and printed one. The files are for use with 4 rubber bands, all about 35mm long when stretched, feel free to rescale it for the rubber bands you have! You'd need two of each part, and they get glued together in the way that should be obvious. I used gel type super glue. This would probably look pretty cool if the rubber bands were replaced with transparent nylon line (like in my other Tensegrity useless structures, such as https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4292334). But rubber bands were easy, making this maybe the quickest and easiest to print and assemble Tensegrity ...thing.... out there! Print Settings Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.24mm heights, 0.3 mm nozzle, 3 perimeters Infill: 25%, but maybe 50% would be more stiff Filament: anything PLA (I used silver silk, but regular PLA would likely be more stiff also).
