Tensegrity Mast

Tensegrity Mast

This is 3 of the previous tensegral units, joined together to form a sturdy mast. If you're interested in this kind of project, like and follow me as I continue down the path of tensegrity creations. This particular assembly was quite challenging, especially when it came to lacing up the tension lines. Some of them slipped or stretched during hot gluing, resulting in less-than-ideal tension. Irreversible steps can be a real problem in assemblies like this one. I've learned that caution is key when working with tensegrity units. The supports have cutouts that allow you to stack them, but each one requires some careful rotation before lacing up the joints. A bit of hot glue helps secure everything in place. You don't need to connect every node, just the critical ones that keep the structure stable. I might design a simpler version next time, as this one was quite tricky to assemble. https://youtu.be/NykOgomoQPY
