This is a tansegrity sculpture of a hummingbird hovering above a leaf. Tansegrity creates the illusion that he's floating in mid-air, but it's just strings and straightforward physics at work. I designed this model for the tansegrity challenge on the YouTube channel "Heliox". I've included different models to print it in various ways, so choose one based on your printer's capabilities. After printing, you'll need to connect the wings with 85mm and 120mm ropes and link the leaf and tail with a 29mm string - make sure to adjust these lengths as needed. Painting it brings out its full beauty and helps capture the nuances of color in a hummingbird's feathers.
