A tenon saw is a large backsaw that delivers precise, deep cuts in furniture joinery with ease. It should make straight, fast cuts without any sign of binding. Inspired by a classic Henry Disston model from the early 20th century, our high-quality tenon saws boast curved maple handles, brass fittings, and sturdy ¾” x ¼” milled brass backs. These reliable tools are solidly built, well-balanced, and extremely smooth-cutting. Designed for precision cutting of tenons with the grain, this saw is filed rip. This Thin Plate, 16” Tenon Saw features an exceptionally thin .020” blade that cuts incredibly fast. With a total length of 21-1/4”, it offers a generous 4-1/8” depth of cut. The teeth are carefully set at .004” (.10mm) per side for optimal performance. This saw is filed rip at 11 Ppi, ensuring precise cuts every time.
