It's essentially a gigantic slingshot mounted on a cup that serves as its base. My dog adores this toy above all others, so much so that she'll sit under it with her ball, waiting for me to catch the hint and start playing. You'll need elastic and rope to assemble it, as well as two sturdy trees or posts around which you can wrap the ropes. I use Thera-Band exercise tubing, available at Amazon, specifically this 25-foot dispenser: http://smile.amazon.com/Thera-Band-Exercise-Dispenser-25-Feet-Special/dp/B00066D654/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1433641132&sr=8-3&keywords=theraband+tubing The green medium weight is perfect. If you opt for something heavier, be prepared to exert more strength to launch it, but it will travel farther. To assemble the slingshot, thread the elastic through the cup's holes and tie each end to a piece of rope using zip ties to prevent the elastic from slipping free. Then, wrap the ropes around whatever objects come to hand. A smaller rope is needed for the handle; simply thread it through the holes and secure both ends with knots.
