This is a customized version of cperiod's parametric ball launcher designed specifically for standard tennis balls and compatible with 5/8" dowel rods. I conducted experiments with various sizes and grasping angles to achieve optimal hands-free pickup and release of a tennis ball, and modified the shaft holder to securely grip an unthreaded 5/8" dowel rod. Print the launcher on its side or back with supports, remove any remaining supports, then insert a 5/8" (0.625") dowel rod into the socket, and it's ready for use.
