Tenkara Spool with removable face

Tenkara Spool with removable face

thingiverse

There are already several Tenkara spools available on Thingiverse, with most featuring an inner diameter that is too small to accommodate the handle of my Ito rod. To address this issue, I designed this spool in OpenScad, allowing users to easily modify the code to adjust the center diameter as needed. The design also facilitates separate printing of one side, enabling a permanent attachment via glue if desired; however, I discovered that a friction fit between the pieces is sufficient, eliminating the need for adhesion. This configuration also simplifies the addition of a strip of craft foam around the spool, which serves as a cushion for the line and enhances overall performance.
