Tenkara Line Holder
thingiverse
Tenkara, a traditional Japanese fly fishing technique, utilizes telescopic rods and fixed line lengths, typically 12'. Proper storage of this line is essential for efficient fishing. I designed a line holder that accommodates the needs of Tenkara enthusiasts while being smaller and wider than commercial Japanese versions. Made from biodegradable PLA, it slips over the rod's cork grip. Recently, I improved the design by creating a narrower version with 5mm between spool flanges compared to the original 10mm width. This new version is my preference. To print, use renewable and biodegradable PLA material. Assemble both parts together for convenience. After printing, gently sand the edges and line slots' insides to prevent snagging. Secure with super glue or epoxy. I am currently working on a snap-together version. Personalize your holders by printing them in different colors for easy identification of various lines.
