Tenkara Fly Fishing line spool
thingiverse
As a designer and tenkara fly fishing angler, I was inspired to create my own spool for storing lines. After trying one designed by ecleticangler (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:232208), I decided to enhance mine with additional features. My spool consists of a single piece, boasting two line-holding slots and six grooves for securing the end of your fishing line. For convenience, I added a snap-on joint on one side that allows you to store two spools together effortlessly. The central hole in my spool even enables it to be attached directly to your rod! I hope this design brings as much joy to others as it did for me; thank you! In case you're interested, I printed my spool using a Mendelmax 1.5+ with 3mm PLA black filament, 0.2 layer height, 3 top and bottom layers, 2 wall thicknesses, and 0.2 honeycomb infill. Printing without support, it took approximately one and a half hours to print a pair of spools at a speed of 65mm/min.
