Tenerife-Canary Islands

The Canary Islands, specifically Tenerife, has been accurately mapped out using SRTM2STL technology derived from satellite imagery obtained during the Space Shuttle missions. However, some minor discrepancies in the NW region remain due to a lack of reliable satellite data. Fortunately, open-source developers have created and made publicly available the source code used for generating these topographic models on github, freely distributed under the GNU license. If interested in learning more about SRTM2STL or contributing your own modifications, simply head over to github and search for 'SRTM2STL' - a plethora of possibilities awaits you. It's worth noting that when attempting to print out large Raised Relief Maps, you might find yourself dealing with an abundance of warping issues. I myself have found it prudent to take things easy by reducing the print scale just a tad to compensate for such anomalies. And if, as has been reported in certain cases, managing warp issues isn't all too troublesome, printing these large relief maps should come off rather swimmingly.
