Ten Tiling Puzzles

Ten Tiling Puzzles

thingiverse

Ten simple tiling puzzles. The target is a square box that represents 49 squares. The box is to be filled with 8 pieces, "tiles". Seven of the pieces are common to all ten puzzles. The seven pieces are hexominos and cover 42 of the 49 squares in the target. To complete the tiling 7 additional squares need to be covered. A single heptomino from a set of 10 completes each puzzle. To make a puzzle print the target, the seven hexominos, and at least one heptomino. A full set of heptominos, 108 in all, is contained in heptominos.zip. Print any one of heptominos 1, 10, 12, 31, 43, 58, 66, 91, 101, or 103 to complete a puzzle. Numbered images of the heptominos are shown above. Included are two stl files that each contain 5 of the above heptominos: seven_1_to_43.stl and seven_58_to_103.stl. If more than one puzzle is created it is best to print the heptominos in a different color. Hexominos.scad makes all the heptominos. Target.scad makes the target and a few related targets. Hexominos.zip is available at thing:5227727 "Two Simple Hexomino Problems". See How Done for answers.
