Having printed one of the original cogs, I discovered that the base file was too large and too thick for my needs, but I loved the step-down feature on the cog. So, this is a remixed file of 10 gears of varying sizes, numbers 15 through 24 from the original, with the z-axis reduced by half to achieve the desired result. This project takes approximately one hour to complete when printing at a layer height of 0.2. The outcome is a set of lightweight gears ideal for adding a steampunk touch to your costume. Print Settings: Printer Brand: Wanhao Printer Model: Wanhao Duplicator i3 V2 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 mm Infill: 30% Post-Printing Instructions: Give it a punky twist! Print the gears in black plastic for lightweight pieces and use 'old gold' spray paint to add a steampunk finish. Attach them to your costume using sewing or glue, and get ready to shine! How I Designed This Remix I started by printing the original cog and found it too thick for my purposes. To overcome this limitation, I imported 10 gears of different sizes into Cura and reduced both the X and Y axes by 50%. By decreasing the z-axis to 25%, I was able to achieve a thinner profile while maintaining the step-down feature on each gear. Finally, I exported the file as an .stl for further processing.
