The "Temple of Diana" likely towered over the first two centuries AD. Placed squarely in the heart of the modern village, it took pride of place as a prominent temple within the Roman Forum. Dedicated exclusively to the imperial cult, this impressive structure stood proudly perched on a spacious rectangular podium that supported six columns up front and an additional eleven on each side, boasting Corinthian capitals which had been cleverly stuccoed in a former life. Relying heavily on its sturdy foundation, the temple's robust design served as the perfect base for the palace of Count Corba, which was skillfully constructed in the sixteenth century and boasted an impressive double gallery adorned with intricate arches, inviting windows, and elegant doors. Nearby, a tranquil sacred space was lovingly landscaped with a serene pond, providing a picturesque contrast to the temple's grandeur.
