The temple complex of Maya is considered one of the most impressive archaeological sites in Central America. It was once a thriving city, home to over 10 million people during the Classic Period, around 2000 BC to 900 AD. Maya's architecture is characterized by grand structures such as pyramids and temples, often decorated with intricate carvings and paintings. The largest pyramid at Maya is over 100 feet high and features a complex system of stairs and passageways. One of the most impressive aspects of Maya is its astronomical observatory. The ancient Mayans were skilled astronomers who developed a sophisticated understanding of the movements of the sun, moon, planets, and stars.
