The Ilyushin Il-62 [also known as Classic according to NATO] was a Soviet long-range commercial airliner first conceived in 1960 by Ilyushin's designers. This airliner followed up the successful turbo-prop Il-18 and offered room for almost 200 passengers plus crew members, establishing itself as the world's largest jet-powered passenger plane when it took flight in 1963. Aeroflot initially began operating this type of aircraft on September 15th, 1967 with a passenger flight originating from Moscow to Montreal marking its maiden journey. As one of the first modern commercial jets, the Il-62 paved the way for Boeing's 707, de Havilland Comet, DC-8, and VC10, becoming a widely-used model in its era, particularly by nations under Soviet alliance, dominating long-distance flight services across decades. The Russian engineers succeeded in designing the very first Soviet aircraft featuring non-round cabin shape and ergonomically-friendly passenger entry/exit systems, and the very first jet airliner equipped with six rows of passenger seating like some predecessors [specifically turbo-prop powered Tu-114 which used the same layout]. The standard for global navigation lights has also been established by the Soviet team on this aircraft. Most textures were not fully completed in its initial setup; hence only componended control elements were rendered as per user Sanmaddie's request.
