This 3D model was originally built with Sketchup 13 before being converted to all other formats seamlessly. The native format remains .skp, while the 3dsmax scene is crafted in 2016 version with Vray 3.00 handling renderings. Finally achieved after an eternity! A huge shoutout to 707 for designing the windshield, and whomever made the engine fan - a monumental thank you! Although not the final iteration, I'd love to highlight upcoming fixes and additions, including wingbox refinement and landing gear/doors enhancement. Considering this is one of my most polished from-scratch templates to date, I still yearn for improvement. As seen with that infamous wing, there's always room to enhance and push myself creatively. Built from scratch with meticulous care, the Dassault Mercure is a French twin-jet narrow-body jet airliner designed specifically to counter Boeing's market domination. Its proposal in 1967 garnered significant attention from the aviation world, paving the way for its first production flight in 1973 and a commercial service span of roughly two decades until 1995. Unfortunately, Air Inter was the sole airline to have flown this aircraft throughout its operational life. Despite only a handful of successes, it was ultimately decommissioned due to low sales numbers. Between 1971-75, just 12 planes rolled off the assembly line. Initially presented as a rival to the Boeing 737 in 1967 with significant backing from the French government, the Mercure aimed to secure 140 seats on board compared to Boeing's more modest offering of 100 seats for the B737-100 and 115 seats for the B737-200 variants. The aircraft would showcase Dassault's expertise in aerodynamics and lift capacity garnered from producing a succession of combat aircraft such as the Ouragan, Mystère, and Mirage. It targeted both regional and domestic markets by presenting it as a viable alternative to the popular Douglas DC-9. A few airlines initially showed interest, but Air Inter alone made an order. Several factors, including the oil crisis and currency fluctuations during the 1970s, impacted its appeal, primarily however due to limited operating range of approximately 1,700 kilometers. Thus, foreign sales remained elusive with just one refurbished prototype resold to Air Inter - an industry's poorest record for aircraft sold with fewer units purchased than numerous struggling models such as Concorde (14 manufactured, 20 total) and Vickers VC-10, among others. UPDATE 1.5 has seen this model fitted with new engines for improved performance
