The 777-200LR, designated C-market model and marketed as the Worldliner for its remarkable ability to connect almost any two airports globally, entered service in 2006 despite still adhering to ETOPS regulations. It established a new world record by successfully executing the longest non-stop commercial airliner flight with an impressive maximum design range of 9,380 nautical miles {17,370 km}. Initially intended for routes like Los Angeles to Singapore, this aircraft's primary objective is to cater to ultra-long-haul markets. Featuring enhanced MTOW and incorporating three optional auxiliary fuel tanks placed in the rear cargo area are some distinctive features alongside redesigned main landing gear, additional structural reinforcement, raked wingtips and an extra 12.8 ft [3.90 m] of extension on its wings as compared to other aircraft variants. The aircraft runs on GE90-110B1 or GE90-115B turbofans, marking significant technological advancements in fuel efficiency and maneuverability. The initial â200LR model was successfully delivered to Pakistan International Airlines on February 26, 2006. As of February 2013, nine various airlines had received delivery of their 55 units while having three remaining orders unfulfilled. By July 2012, a total of 52 â200LR aircraft were in service among its numerous operators. Notably, the A340-500HGW was the nearest competing model offered by Airbus at that time.
