This 3D model was originally built using Sketchup 8 and later converted into various other formats. Its native format is .skp while 3ds Max scene is 2016 version, rendered with Vray 3.00 Special thanks to 707 and SketchVC10. The Boeing 747SP was engineered as a high-performance modification of the original 747 jet airliner designed for ultra-long-range flights. It boasts the name "Special Performance" due to its distinct features. Compared to the 747-100, this variant retains its wide-body, four-engine design with a double-deck layout but has an improved fuselage shape, increased tailplane size, and modified trailing edge flaps. This modification yields additional speed and longer ranges when compared to other configurations of the 747 model series. Originally designated as the "short-body 747SB", it was specifically designed for Pan American World Airways and Iran Air in 1973 due to a joint request. They were searching for an efficient airliner that could travel across New York's routes to the Middle East and Tehran-New York flight respectively. The design also offered Boeing a chance to produce a mid-size wide-body airliner competing with current trijet designs on the market. On April 13, 1976, Pan Am started service with this model followed by purchases made by various VIP clients as well as government sectors around the world. Its unique design performance made it record-setter several times throughout its operational phase. Despite expectations for over two hundred orders totaling sales did not meet requirements and production closed down at forty-five aircraft in 2004. REVAMPED: this update brought entirely new wing systems and revamped engines in sync to fit specifications; additionally landing gears had their configurations reviewed and added so as to properly represent the realistic state; fixed faulty proportions on the tail and implemented revised versions of necessary tools; changed flawed scales on engines accordingly for proper performance matching that with realistic aircraft parameters. The correct ratio was applied to wing's spans based on accurate real-life measurements thereby accurately displaying it on any format.
