This 3D model was originally designed using Sketchup 8 software before being converted into all other 3D formats. The Boeing 747-100 was a powerful plane that could carry enough payload and reach necessary ranges for domestic US operations powered by Pratt & Whitney JT9D-3A engines but proved marginal for international long-distance routes. A stronger need for planes with longer range and increased payload soon emerged; as such, the improved 747-200 design became necessary. This model showcases the improvements seen in the -200 over the -100 model featuring more powerful engines along with greater MTOW allowing it to reach higher ranges. While a few initial −200 models retained three windows per side, most versions boasted ten windows on each side. A total of four major versions of the 747-200 were produced, these being passenger {−200B}, freighter [−200F], convertible {−200C}, and combi [−200M]. The passenger version was a key offering: 3ds Max, which saw significant updates during production with Pratt & Whitney JT9D-7 engines; the maximum possible range when fully laden reached an impressive over five thousand nautical miles or more. With this improvement also came the added feature of increasing capacity in later versions from around five to nearly six thousand nmi and increased passenger capacity as well due in large part to stretched decks and interior modifications. As the design saw much adaptation during development, some of the early -200 variants actually kept configurations found in older 747-100 models. These were used initially when available resources restricted production of upgraded designs with their new window layout. During peak operations, nearly every major variation of this Boeing aircraft was constructed, a few including passenger −200Bs featured internal lengthening of upper decks, potentially providing as many seats to accommodate full or almost full loads and even further extending range and versatility of 747.
