This 3D model was originally created using Sketchup 8 before being converted to all other relevant formats. Its native format is .skp while the 3dsmax scene utilizes 3ds Max 2016 with Vray 3.00 for rendering, thanks to the collaborative efforts of Maberick Mocha and AirbusA330 as well as my own contribution. While the 747-100 powered by Pratt Whitney JT9D-3A engines provided sufficient payload and range for domestic operations in the US, it was hardly suitable for long international routes that demanded increased capacity. This prompted the development of an improved model, known as the -200 series, which featured more powerful engines and enhanced performance. Several early -200s retained a three-window configuration on the upper deck reminiscent of its predecessor but most subsequent versions boasted ten windows per side. Produced in multiple configurations including passenger -200B, freighter -200F, convertible -200C, and combi -200M versions, this particular 747-200 version proved highly adaptable to varying needs. Introduced to service in February 1971, the 747-200B variant was distinguished by its enlarged fuel capacity, advanced engines, and increased carrying capabilities. Powered initially with Pratt Whitney JT9D-7 engines before being replaced later on, the 747-200 achieved ranges of over 5,000 nautical miles when fully loaded, eventually increasing to 6,000 nautical miles as engine technology improved. Many -200Bs featured internally expanded upper decks offering space for up to 16 passenger seats and significantly boosting interior room.
