This 3D model originated with Sketchup 8, then converted into multiple formats. Native format is .skp, while 3dsmax scene utilizes 2016 version of 3ds Max and Vray 3.00 for rendering. The aircraft modeled is an original KLM design by Oguzhan N., featuring accurate tail form. The next iteration in the series, this model belongs to the Boeing 737 Classics lineup. Launched in 1985, the 737-400 aimed to bridge the gap between the 737-300 and the 757-200, directly competing with the Airbus A320 and McDonnell Douglas MD-80. To achieve higher capacity, the 737-300's design was extended by 10 ft (3.45 m) to accommodate up to 168 passengers. Notable improvements include a strengthened wing spar and tail bumper designed to prevent take-off damage from scrapes. After unveiling on January 26, 1988, it flew for the first time on February 19, 1988, eventually entering service with launch customer Piedmont Airlines (25 aircraft ordered) on September 15, 1988. The converted 737-400F, designed as a cargo aircraft from its base model, saw its first adaptation by Alaska Airlines. One 400-series aircraft was transformed for carrying 10 pallets, marking the initial foray into converting models from standard passenger to mixed-purpose (50/50) transporters; today, five additional aircraft feature similar dual purposes under commercial operations within that same fleet. As it stands now, this 737-400 variant is no longer in active production or production development phase but part of existing inventory available for Boeing 737 NextGen product lineup.
