Designed by Bramante, the mastermind behind St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican, this diminutive domed chapel known as the 'Tempietto' (Little Temple) was constructed in 1502 within the cloister of San Pietro in Monterio in Rome to commemorate what was believed - albeit mistakenly - to be the exact spot where St. Peter met his fate on the cross.
