Tempest paint pole adapter
thingiverse
This is a remix of https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4616955, which used a square adaptor for the Tempest weather station. This adaptor is for the ubiquitous 3/4" "paint pole" screws, which are often able to reach 8 feet or even 24 feet with a simple lock. The poles are very light, very strong, and quite inexpensive. This is for temporary installations, where the Tempest weather station is used for short periods and moved. In my case I install it on a travel trailer a few days or weeks at a time, for which I have another adaptor on the bottom of the pole. I've included the adaptor I created for the base of the pole. This only works for my installation, but it might show what you would have to do. An example of the pole this is designed for might be: https://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200840932_200840932 or https://smile.amazon.com/EVERSPROUT-Telescopic-Extension-Rust-Resistant-Aluminum/dp/B07NPZNZ3B Depending on the "handle" side you would need a specific adaptor, depending on where/how you want to mount it. Update 2/21/2021: Finally figured out that the thread issue I was having was that the threads are 3/4", 5 threads per inch. Fusion 360 has a template that uses 10 threads per inch, oops. I created my own template following the instructions at https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Custom-Threads-in-Fusion-360.html Information on the WeatherFlow Tempest can be found at: https://weatherflow.com/tempest-weather-system/
