Temperature distribution in the subsurface
sketchfab
Temperature variability beneath the renowned Messel pit site reveals a narrow thermal spectrum, spanning from 10 degrees Celsius at its coolest (blue hue) to a mere degree higher at its warmest (vibrant red). A three-dimensional representation of this subsurface domain illustrates the extensive rock mass of the Rotliegend group, which non-conformably overlies underlying basement rocks in southwestern Germany.
