Temperature Control Tower
cults3d
I improved the original model by adding a wide and stable base, as found on Thingiverse here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:729703. Dimensions are 30x30x70 mm. In Cura, I build the Gcode from my Tour.stl file with a layer height of 0.20 and a base temperature of 210°C. To change the temperature during printing at every centimeter of Z, we need to add commands. I edit the resulting gcode with a simple text editor (Windows notepad style). In the text, I search for ;LAYER:50 (because 50 x 0.20 mm = 10 mm) and add just below this line the command M104 S205 (to lower the temperature to 205°C). I do the same for layer 100 with M104 S200, layer 150 with M104 S195, Layer 200 with M104 S190, layer 250 with M104 S185, layer 300 with M104 S180. After saving this modified gcode, I start printing and examine the result to determine which extrusion temperature is best for my filament.
